Someone is experiencing a new sort of freedom…

Last week, there was a lot of commotion in our neighborhood. Loud chainsaws, branches breaking, shouting…you get the idea.
At first I thought the man in the branches was making a heroic effort of trimming an old, beautiful tree. Imagine my surprise when we saw this majestic piece of nature get hacked down to a sad looking 15ft. stump. So sad.
Obviously my neighbor paid a lot for this service and there was a huge concern that the diseased tree would collapse onto his house…definitely a possibility with the storms we get in the Spring.
But still…I am still so sad. And yeah, the guy in the tree WAS incredible. I have never seen a person dangle from branch to branch with a chainsaw. Yikes.
Better go- I am spending most of the week trying to keep the peace between Peppy and Lulu.
See you all next week.

We are all settling into having Lulu with us quite well. Here is a conversation I overheard from Penelope and Lulu:
Penelope: My sister
Lulu: No, MY sister
Penelope: NO, Lulu, MY SISTER
Lulu: NO
Ellie must love this heightened popularity. I know I would.

Can you stand how sweet and cuddly she is?
If you are reading this Susan, she is doing just fine. She proudly proclaims you are in China and she is Chinese!

We enjoyed beautiful weather here in the midwest. Beautiful blue skies and the hope for more of these kind of days. We went on a hike this morning and were thrilled to see green grass poking through the earth, melting snow, and lots of mud (no thrill there).
Having 3 kids can be a joy, but it is also a lot of work…thankless at times. That’s why a day like today is needed- a break from routine and laughter over the slightest chaos during an impromptu photo session.
Hope the weekend is treating everyone well.

Simon Ariel + Penelope Tess= Mischief.
Let’s just say, baby powder.
Now what can you imagine…?

Over the past few days, I have heard more birds singing and seen lots more snow melting. I absolutely love the excitement of Spring and its’ flurry of emotional weather.
I was particularly excited to overhear lots of cardinal calls and spotting their red flecks in tree branches and rooftops on my walk today. Hurray.

I love how the kids found themselves quite far from one another during Friday breakfast…still had all chairs set out from Si’s birthday celebration. They thought it was hysterical to be calling down to one another…oh, what entertains them makes me smile.

PS- Check out under “Pages” my first shipment of loot I received on Monday. Thanks Eden!
