Hey, we did this!

Mosaic Icon Project from Saint Joseph Orthodox Church on Vimeo.

Nathan and I teach Sunday School at our Parish. A few weeks back, when our priest asked if we could lead an assembly on our mosaic we created 10 years ago…I had to remind myself we IN FACT DID MAKE ONE!

I’m so glad we made this video. During the time of the mosaic’s creation, this was pre-digital and pre-imovie. Unfortunately, over the years, photos have been lost or not returned so I am glad we have a nicely edited version of our big undertaking.

I thought it would be fun for those that are interested to view what we created…last night!

That’s so great! Ariana took me there before we moved to show me the work you had done and it was rather impressive and beautiful. What a labor of love. Nice to see its creation so well-documented here.

So much love! This little video brought tears to my eyes– not totally sure why, but I think this project was so lovely, and such a sacrifice for you both to give that time and energy to your parish right as you were leaving.

Thanks again for sharing this video with the kids. I know that they enjoyed watching it and learning about mosaics. And you know I would love to be bale to do something like this with the Sunday School classes in the future. It would be such a great project!!

This is amazing!! I agree Jeff and Ariana–What a labor of love! And to complete the mosaic just days before moving-inspirational! I love the view from the street–peeking just above the wall, the gold glittering, beckoning one to come closer. I love it! Thank you for sharing :)
