the dining table

I don’t know about you, but our dining room table is more than a place for eating…

Today we:

ate breakfast
“modge podged” a treasure box
played with clay
glittered “stuff”
cut out some fabric
learned to write the number “35″
and taught our animal friends to fly

Sometimes I yearn for a nicer table that’s more “grown up”, but then I look underneath and see my kids graffitti of happy faces and proclamations of loving God. What was I thinking? This table is a treasure!

Nice way to put it! I’ve certainly had good times around that table!

Boy do I know how you feel. There are time that I feel annoyed that our table is such a multi-tasker — like when it’s time for dinner and there is still a pile of unfolded laundry on one end and three art projects on the other. But I am much happier when I can recognize that this table has become the center of our family life.

never get rid of it! it sounds too precious the way it is.
