stripey with flower

Filed under: Sewing — admin at 12:36 pm on Monday, October 27, 2008

Recognize this sweater? You can find it at Target and it’s on sale…I love a simple cardigan, but realized my Fall/winter wardrobe is pretty boring when you multiply one simple cardigan by 5 or 6, you know?

Anyway, I added this flower detail that is a bit “blobbish” looking, but then again I am not a “frilly” flower girl…so I like it!

Thanks for the cardigan ideas- I think I am going to put that project on the shelf for awhile and wait for Ellie to actually fit into it (if she ever does, she is so petite!).

I’m home alone today- who knows what else I will accomplish?

Oh- Are people still interested in my list of dinners? I’m about to create another list and just wanted to know if there is anyone on board with next group of ideas.

Yes ,yes, yes on the dinner lists! I love them!!! I made cards and added many of your dinners. The whole system is working great and we love your chicken satay and tortillla soup dinners. They will remain part of our rotation. I can’t wait to see more. Thanks for sharing them!

I used your chicken satay/green beans/coconut rice dinner the other night and it was a success, I’d love more of your dinner lists!

Oh, yes on the dinners. And a belated thank you for sharing your stock method! I can’t wait to try it; I like the roasting component a lot.

Cute embellishment on the cardigan, by the way. I need to replenish my sweater stash for winter, seeing as it is part of my “uniform”.

Yes please! I would love for you to post some more dinner lists. I just made the Chicken Satay this weekend. My husband and I loved it and the kids didn’t outright reject it, so it’s coming back again! I think this one will win them over if I make it a few times. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut, so I love hearing about other meals that have already been kid-tested that work. Thanks!

Could you please share your method for making your own stock? I have taken your advice on freezing the bones from our last roasted chicken, and would love to make stock this way! Thanks!

I think you should do CUSTOM meals for my house! Oh to be so organized!

By the way, I couldn’t resist tagging you at my blog. Also, if you click on the “blogs I like” label, you might find something interesting!

Hi! My friend has your blog as one of her favorites and I started reading it last night…went to bed…woke up this morning to finish reading it. I am so inspired!!!! I love all your crafty sewing and the banners and the wooden dolls and the blocks. Love it! I love to craft and have a 1 1/2 year old and haven’t done much lately. I like to sew but I’m not the kind of person who has patience to follow a pattern or make anything exactly how it should be, like making clothes…but I love the collages and things. I think I could totally do that! Thanks for sharing all your cool work!

PS I live in the north Chicago suburbs but work in Bartlett/Hanover Park/Streamwood which is not too far from Geneva, I’m gonna have to check out Moveable Feast!

Thanks, Carol, for your offer to share your menu ideas–count me in! In exchange, you should ask us all to submit a meal idea for you :) BTW, we’ve always loved our own chicken satays, but your coconut rice and garlic beans really improved on a favorite.
