Thanks for the great book list and gorgeous food shots.
My book club is always looking for good suggestions (we’re reading “In Defense of Food” right now) and I’m going to bring your list to our next meeting.

The food looks fabulous. I read “The Road” and found it very haunting. They are making a movie right now and an Aussie boy is one of the leads (son). I am reading “Eat Pray Love” right now and can’t say I love it. I thought I would love it, but I am struggling to get through it. Love you site. Happy summer!

I love my book club too! We have been meeting for 8 years. I am also reading Loving Frank now, I really like it. There is a Frank Lloyd Wright house in my home town that I can’t wait to go see when I am through with the book. Have you read Peace Like a River by Leif Enger? One of my all time favorites. Your book club might enjoy, we all agreed it was our favorite.

Ooooh, what a lovely list.

I need to read “The Painted Veil” but have not.
I have read “Eat, Pray, Love” and would give it the same rating you did.
I have also read “A Thousand Splendid Suns” and loved it, and “Loving Frank” which was interesting, but not fabulous. And, I didn’t know much about Frank Lloyd Wright so things others knew were surprises to me.

I read What Is The What a few months ago and loved it. I wouldn’t call it as much of an escape as an exploration. A book like that sort of populates your world, brings things into existence that were only theoretical before.
