Hi, I'm Lori. Nice to meet you. I just popped in and I think I will check back often. As for homeschooling, I thought and pondered about it for 8 years! Finally, I took my son out of 8th grade to homeschool him and I'm ever so glad I did. His comment, "I only wish we'd started sooner." My husband was never "on-board" and that's what kept me from acting on my instincts. It was actually a family crisis that moved me to take charge. Although we have loved it, my son has decided to go to public high school next year and I am very happy and excited for him. I will never have to regret not "trying it out" with him.

I am in the same situation. I waffle back and forth each day between do we don't we. I have no idea what the answer is. It sorta gnaws at me all day. If you have any insight please share.

I agree with the ladies encouraging you to trust yourself. Remember too, that whatever you decide, you can always change it! A decision to home school now does not mean a decision to home school forever (and vice versa). I think you are wise to be a little daunted by home schooling. Frankly, it is hard work and some days go better than others. Yet as a person who *was* home schooled (grades 4-12), I can honestly say that for all the craziness, it was a great education. Some much so that I am choosing it for my own children! My unasked for advice? Go for it :) See what happens. It's a risk, but the best things in life require stepping off into something new and unknown for a time!

we love the freedom in all aspects of home education. my children learning in the best fashion for them, changing as they change. time to dream, follow that, and make things happen. it's been a great decision for us thus far...

just like the above statement: trust yourself. take one day at a time. you guys will figure out what is best for your family.

first of all, that banner is SO cute! :) i hear your quandary. my son is due to begin kindergarten in september, and i am still not settled about the situation. i go back and forth ALL the time. we've decided to let him give it a go at school and then take his lead. i have a feeling he may lead us back to homeschooling, but he could surprise me and flourish, i have no idea. i have had to resign myself to making this decision one day at a time, and knowing that we trust ourselves enough to know when and if we need to make a different choice... best wishes to you while in the process, i often have wondered how other parents make the decision how to school their child, and know its no easy one. you'll be in my thoughts!
