Spring shirt 2008

Filed under: Sewing — admin at 10:41 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2008

The tradition of a few Spring shirts all began in 2006 with this wildly popular pattern…I continued the sewing in 2007 with this shirt that I liked, but admittedly did not wear a lot…maybe it was the fabric, not sure. And then of course was all the sewing for the girls that I love, but once summer hits, my sewing of clothing pretty much ceases.

Anyway, here is my Spring 2008 shirt. It’s not for me…I think this girl has slid into my permanent shirt model position.

She’s fine with her new job, in her world she is happy as long as she has a good book to read and some quiet…

…just leave it to me to supply her with new shirts.

By the way, the pattern is Simplicity 2986. I loved it and had no problems. I would like to say my sewing is improving. I even had to trouble shoot and piece a few sections together because I didn’t have enough fabric (I was thrilled that this did not turn into a headache). Of course no buttons or zippers was a plus, but the tucks were a new element that left me pretty happy.

I have more sewing to share from this weekend. We had less than stellar weather (winter revisited, sort of) and so I decided to use my time wisely and cut out a bunch of shirts, skirts, and pants. Stay tuned.

Carol it’s great! And that girl gets more and more gorgeous each year!
I definitely think you have a knack of choosing great patterns. You must be able to see past the awful styling that they have on the front of the packets!

Adorable…the shirt and the model! Nice work mama. I am hoping that sewing starts to get a bit easier for me too one of these days!

So nice to see that lovely little model! The shirt is really cute too! I noticed that you had winter weather again… and really felt for you all! Sigh.

The shirt looks great, Carol! I am envious of your sewing abilities. I can’t seem to get the hang of it.

Carol, I noticed the tucks right away! Great job! Aren’t tucks fun? They add so much. And thanks for the sweet picture of the model, growing UP!
