random thought and a piece of toast

Okay, so I had the strangest experience I want to share with you…

During my weekly work out session with a trainer, he had me box. As I was putting on the gloves I was starting to feel intimidated, then tough, then timid and finally embarrassed. Have any of you out there actually been told to punch something?

It was the weirdest thing. I hit like a girl, but man, what a work out and what a mental block I had to overcome!

And on another note, I have the best husband. I leave the bread/beer making/coffee roasting up to him. Check out this gorgeous slice of toast…to be precise it’s an “egg harbor” toasting bread and it is divine.

Enough from me today.

Not a whole lot of production when it comes to me and the sewing machine, I suppose that’s what I need.

I also know I need Spring.

I think I would feel each of those things if I actually had to box. Especially if the trainer was good looking. That would add humiliation to the mix. I also think that after all is said and done it would make me a nicer person.

I commend you on the working out! Sounds like a great way to fight winter spread and the blues! I think boxing would feel pretty strange.

    The toast looks so good!

My trainer has me box too. My husband told her not to have me do it too much because he doesn’t want me to beat him up :)

I am smiling because I had a funny experience boxing. My friend H. had just broken up with her boyfriend, so I took her to the gym and suggested that we do some boxing. We didn’t have gloves, though, and while she walked away feeling better, I left with very painful, possibly fractured, jammed metacarpal! I felt so stupid because I don’t think I was feeling much aggression, but just had poor form and missed work serving because of it and it impacted all of my massage classes that week, too. I don’t think I have boxed since, but I think with gloves it WOULD be great exercise on so many levels!
