so good

Happiness is making a simple crostata (love this book) using apples and blueberries from the summer. A total stress relief during a busy week.

Oh yeah, and having your guests enjoy the treat is a plus too.

I’ve been sort of lame with posting and not responding to people’s comments like I should. Sorry. I’ve been consumed with life and hope to have some more time in this part of the universe soon…I like this part of the world.

I love your posts no matter how few or far between. AND never apologize for not getting back to comments — mine are unconditional, I enjoy saying hi and would never expect anything in return. You are a busy mama! I have a feeling most people feel this same way :)

That crostata is making my mouth water. MMMMMM.

Hey Mrs. Shack–
This is Danielle Jackson–from the Europe trip way back in 2002/former Shackelford Babysitter! This is actually really random, but I work for Sourcebooks, Inc., an independent publisher in Naperville (now that I’m done with college), and one of my responsibilities is to find new websites and blogs to review our books. I remembered you had a blog and I wanted to let you know about this opportunity! We just launched a childrens book line called Jabberwocky, and one of our books, I Love You More, seemed like a great book for you to share with the kids and the rest of your blog readers. Please let me know if you’re interested, and be sure to tell Mr. Shack I say hello! I can’t believe how big the kids are–I think I was Penny’s first babysitter :)

Best,
Danielle

That does look yummy! Hope life slows down a little for you to enjoy it and find some me time.
