brilliant!

One of the other things I like to do with my time is read. If I sit down and read I know I am relaxing- usually this sort of activity is how I end my day (it’s my favorite part). I have 2 ACTUAL books I am reading (Plenty and Snowflower & the Secret Fan), but I have one book I am listening to and I love it.

Have you seen these cool contraptions at your library? They are called PLAYAWAYS and are digital books you listen to with your own set of headphones. I’ve been listening to my book while baking at work, sewing, and I attempted to listen in bed…that didn’t work out so well!

I love to listen to books on tape. Some people scoff at this way of reading, but honestly there are certain types of books I will stick with if I am listening…long lengthy descriptions, several characters to keep track of, content I am not familiar with…

Anyway, this technology is brilliant! By the way, the book Suite Francaise is a great read.

o i love books on tape. i usually enjoy them on long car rides i have to take by myself. but i have found that they are good when i am tryign to get a task done. but to set the cd (or even the cassette) up in the stereo and have to move from room to room isnt that easy. this is a great excuse to go try out the library in our new town

How great is that?! I have never been keen on the books on tape (cassette) as we don’t have a player in the house and am never in the car long enough to get much out of it. This looks absolutely fabulous…will have to check the library!

Haven’t tried books on tape but love Snowflower and the Secret Fan. I recently read a Tree Grows in Brooklyn after seeing it on one of your blogs. I’ve added it to the one-of-my-all-time-favorites list! Don’t know how I’ve missed that one all these years.

My mom just lent me 3 books. I started one, and the other 2 are Snowflower and the Secret Fan and Suite Francaise. Good to know that they come highly recommended!

Soeme of my dyslexic students used books on tape. Great way to go! Are you going to continue your alphabet listings? It was fascinating to see what you came up with.
