F is for flowers, festive, fun, friends…

I love how today’s letter has corresponded with the day’s activities and my current project.

I decided to make these flower garlands for my daughter’s SURPRISE party my mom and I threw her today.

Ellie’s birthday isn’t for another 2 weeks, but with summer schedules and the fact that her first full day of school IS her birthday, we decided to celebrate early with friends.

I love throwing parties and entertaining. I miss when we used to live in California and all of our college friends and family lived in one place. We were always having people over- nearly every weekend. Of course that was pre-family OR with just Ellie in tow.

ANYWAY, this little gathering was fun and festive AND these garlands were super easy to make. Cute, huh? If anyone is interested, I may post a tutorial.

Did I tell you it was a “No Sew” project? I kind of created it as I went along and it really just turned out perfectly.

Hurray for flowers! Hurray for friends! Hurray for 9 and 10 year old girls!

I just love these garlands as does my 7 year old daughter who is peeking over my shoulder. Happy early birthday Ellie! Emma and I both enjoy seeing your crafts, baking, decorating and adorable kids.

I’d love to see a tutorial on that. My youngest darling would go crazy over that. Her birthday is on Sunday and she’s away in Texas. We’re planning a luau when she returns.

Glad your girl had a great day!

Carol, those garlands are just great. And Ellie is looking so grown up and pretty. I love seeing pictures of her with Penny, she really looks like a caring older sister.
You must be very proud!

love the garlands! i agree no tutorial needed…but what would be fun would be ideas for variations - cinco de mayo, christmas, winter, spring etc and then I can see them larger, with themes to hang in children’s rooms…space, elephants, teddies, boats, fairies, ocean, seaside, jungle…ooooh I can think of LOADS of possibilities!

Sweet garland for sweet girls! And I love the idea of an early surprise. Someone once threw me a birthday party a few months early, but only because they messed up the date - but it was the most fun and, obviously, a total surprise!

Cute girls , looks like they are having a blast (too bad I am too grow up to wear those headbands :) !!)
I have no girls but know several that would enjoy those flowers in their hair!!!!

Besides I think I am dressing as a flower fairy this halloween (yep, I dress up everyyear since I had kids!!!) and those flowers would be perfect (so forget I said I was too grown up! I am a kid at heart!!!!)

Love your blog!

I did end up making a version of this for my daughter’s birthday and finally got around to blogging about it. I should have done the double flower on some of them like you did!
