this cute little girl emerging!

I am making a doll for Penelope’s 3rd birthday. This pattern is so easy that I think I may make a few friends- the more the merrier!

The pattern can be found on the Purl Bee’s website and modified from bunny to girl. I rounded the head a bit more and made the feet a tad smaller- I think I will use wool felt for the hair and piece shapes to form a sassy bob. What do you think?

Carol:
We (Susan, the boys, Mom and Dad) are in Japan with all of the gifts eager to deliver them to some dear kids with love. We want to thank you all and hope we can convey your love, as well. Too bad we can’t all be together!

I love ‘rag-dolls’! They have so much more character that plastic ones! I am sure Penny will love this one! A felt bob sounds darling!
I have made short, ‘curly’ hair by wrapping yarn around a couple fingers, then tying that in the middle with a short piece. These little bundles can then be sewn all over the head using matching, ordinary thread.

When do you find the time?
Do you sleep? I have fabric if you need it! A spring cleaning.

I think sewn hair is the cutest. Can’t wait to see what you come up with…

How lovely! I want to make a few things for Lupinas third birthday in May. I was thinking wooden dolls, to go with the doll house we’re “re-modeling” out of a small “book box”. But she could also need a non-Barbie doll like that. Even though she want’s a real Barbie!
