lessons learned

I really should have known better…
For one thing, I shouldn’t have let Penelope “freestyle” sipping Black Currant juice at the grocery store today. Hopefully the stain will come out of the newly sewn shirt.
And second, I should have known better about my fabric choice for her new pants.
I was all excited to find the perfect chocolate brown cordurouy. I got it home and immediately started a pair of trousers with fun “drawn on looking” pockets. You would have thought I would notice the thickness of the fabric and the blue backing on the wrong side of the fabric. I think I bought heavy duty upholstery fabric or something. In the day light there is an unbearable “blue sheen” to her pants. Ugh.
I did find the proper fabric this weekend and will make another pair some time…remember how I dislike having to fix project problems?! I know there is a lesson here and I will not ignore it.

Adorable!
P.S.-I just found your blog this morning…I love the skirts, pants, outfits-I hope that stain comes out. If not, maybe you could cover it up with an applique. A fallish owl, maybe? Oh, and that coffee cozy is so cute! I love patchwork.
