can I do it?
Since my son’s birthday last February, he has been telling me he wants a stuffed dinosaur for both Christmas and his birthday. At first I just passed it off and said “of course I will!” and thought he would forget about it.
He hasn’t.
He is really depending on something and I have to fulfill my promise. Oh boy.
I was happy to discover these books at my library. I wanted to steer away from pillow shaped dinos and I think I found my answer. The problem is that I am pretty intimidated. This is a gift for my son and I do not plan on making anymore…I’ll leave that to the true artists.
I think he is expecting a whole world of dinosaurs, but I am giving myself a break and will make the below image for Christmas. Perhaps in time for his birthday he will have a whole universe and I can retire from making stuffed toys…really, I am scared!

Yes, I think you can! I think the dino will be great! Just keep your sense of humor while wrestling with the process!
(I think I would cut out two of everything so if I seriously messed up part, I would have an immediate spare… But you probably won’t need it like I do!)

i have that book, and love it. the dinosaur was my second project, and it was surprisingly easier than i’d thought — i’m sure you’ll make a masterpiece!

I must say that I think it would be scary, too! And probably the only thing that would get me to attempt it is my kids. Actually, it is realizing that they think you can make anything! That feels pretty good!!! And it makes it hard not to at least try. I am sure you can do it… you are getting to be quite the savvy seamstress!

I have both these books, and they’re amazing! I find that hand sewn them helps me, I can be much more precise and can throw it in my bag and work on it at the dentist!

Those look so great! Im also doing *read that planning* a similar project for my boys for Christmas, but they have their hearts set with fire fighters complete with air tanks and hoses??? Im not sure how Im going to pull it off. What we do for our kids, right? Good luck~

What a great book! Is it new? I think I’ll have to try and find that one.
And boys never forget…I have one…I know…lol!
