FALLing

For this week’s Corners of My Home(and it has been awhile, I know!), an image of my front door.

I absolutely love when the weather is warm to leave my front door open. I enjoy hearing the sounds of the neighborhood, the wind, the traffic, my kids saying hi to people walking by and the occasional squirrel fight. This is one thing I really missed when we moved from California…

But now, the weather has become quite cold (we HAD to turn our furnace on last night!) and we have our big heavy door blockng our view of the world. It makes me sad. I do love Fall, but I also know what is around the corner. Winter is my least favorite time of year and the longest in this part of the world.

Leaves are falling, the temperature is falling, snow WAS falling this morning, and I even find myself falling into bed earlier! Oh well, time to make the best of it. Perhaps I need to find a place to live that is perpetual Fall!

When you find the place of perpetual fall, let me know. I love fall too. We really need to get some screened doors installed at our house so we can leave the doors open. I love the smell of the house when it’s been aired out for a while.

I love the leaf stuck to the screen.

I enjoy winter a lot - the coziness of wearing sweaters and the lovlieness of rain. But then, I think our winters are a lot milder than yours.
