fun swap

A few months back, this nice blogging friend suggested a swap. I had commented on her knitting and she so generously offered to make something for Penelope. Nice, huh?
Well, right before I hosted my sister’s shower, I received her marvelous package. You should have heard Penny imitating my oohing and ahhing…I obviously could not restrain myself and ripped the package open while driving to pick up my kids from school. The lady at the post office kindly cut the envelope for me!

Check out the matching sweater for Penny’s best pal “Piggy”.

The washcloth was also a really nice surprise. I am ALWAYS taken by knitting and can not even imagine how you people do it…really. It’s like when people put additional electrical wiring in their house…can’t imagine doing it!
The 3 soaps Allison sent you will not believe the play, clutching, and sleeping these poor little bears have gone through…that is why there is only one left. Hopefully Ollie won’t decide to chomp on it. Seriously, everytime Penny sleeps, eats, or leaves the house, she must have have the pig, the washcloth, and the bear soap with her. She even puts the soap to bed and pats its’ back. Okay, I need to stop. I’m sure most of you tire of hearing about a 2 year olds life…I would!

And of course, this hat was such an extra bonus! The little kitty cat ears gives Penny every reason in the world to meow and I love it!
THANK YOU Allison! What a fun swap and thanks for the great book too!
By the way, this was my end of the bargain.

Oh, such a sweet smile (even with the swollen lip from our swing… I am so sorry!) I spotted the washcloth while you were here and thought it was really fun, but couldn’t figure out who it belonged to so that I could ask questions. Such a fun swap and what a talented blog friend you have!

Oh Carol,
It’s huge on her! Tilly must be really, really big in comparison. The kitten hat only just fits her, and I think the top would be quite snug too! Well, at least you might get some more wear out of it all next year too.
I knew Penny would like the soaps, Tilly is much the same around them.
So glad you like it all,
Allison

I’ll read about the life of a 2 year old ANYTIME - I know that world from my own 2 year old!
GREAT swap - very jealous ;o) Loved your dresses too!

What a wonderful swap!!! All lovely, and so cute on both Penny and Piggy! Amazing talent! I am the same, I can’t really imagine knitting any more than I can imagine weaving my own fabric!

I love that hat…do you know what kind of yarn she used?

this is so sweet it makes me a little weepy. how wonderful.
I was just commenting to my dh last night about blogging buddies and how they all seem so utterly kind. in real life, it takes a while to figure out if you *connect* with someone (do they craft? do they recycle stuff? do they like old things? ) but here in blogland it’s kind of just “out there”, more transparent, “here I am (via my blog), do we have common interests?”, so that initial get-to-know-you stuff (which is difficult for me, frankly), is out of the way.
not to mention crafty grrrls just seem sweeter than most : )
by the by, I don’t get the knitting thing either. it seems beyond me and I’m so impressed with the creations of knitters. although my grandma did teach me to crochet long ago and I remember loving it…hmmmmm

I love reading about your 2 yr olds antics, just so cute. The swap seemed like it went well, and I adore the little knitted clothes, so pretty. The kitty hat looks adorable on her too.
