swapping

A few months ago, this new friend contacted me about a swap. We have girls near the same age and we thought it would be fun to create clothing for entirely different parts and climates of the world. Allison lives in Australia and I live in the US…specifically the Chicagoland area where summer is glorious at the moment.

I decided to make Tilly 2 corduroy skirts that can easily be interchangeable with other things in her closet. I also thought a couple smocks would take an already adorable girl to another place…maybe her charming smile and cute dotted smock will convince her mom to skip the nap and go to the park. OR to have another cookie while she twirls away in her red skirt…I don’t know, maybe…

Anyway, I had a ball making this swap package. I plan to send another surprise just for Tilly, but won’t post the treat. Maybe later.

Carol - these outfits are adorable. You should take them to little boutique in Geneva, wheaton and chicago - people will eat them up!
You are so talented! I wish i had more ambition to make cute things for Noah but boys are not as fun to make clothes for.
Have you made simon anything?

Oh, so absolutely marvelous! You know someone is going to ask, so I will be brave and do it first… did you make up the pattern by yourself, or is it one you purchased? I’m trying to get my feet wet, and start sewing a few clothing items for my babes, but I don’t know where to start! Any baby would look completely edible in one of these… Your choice of fabrics are right up my alley, too. Thanks for sharing, you should be so proud of your handiwork.

Wow - I’m so in love with these little jumpers! I sew all the time for my 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old girls but have never seen anything like this. Did you use a pattern?

Oh.My.Goodness. You so had me at hello. Those are so fabulous, especially the brown and robin’s egg blue one. I’m a little partial, ya know. :0) I’m sure Allison and Tilly will love them.
