a call

This morning, I felt an “urging” from my favorite thrift store to pay it a visit. So Penelope and I obeyed it’s command and we found this lovely treasure. It’s so pretty and I plan to make some pants for Ellie to wear with it.
The detail and stitching is exquisite. I also can’t believe I spent a mere 75cents.
I actually went to the store looking for a small, wooden bookshelf for Penny and her books. I struck out and was tempted to buy a metal, vintage-like tea cart for $10. I overcame the temptation and hopefully will be rewarded with a shelf soon! Ugh, I hate having to use self-control.

That’s a great find Carol.
I’m looking for a little bookshelf for Tilly too. I love getting her books, and in my opinion, you can never have too many books. But the current box storage solution just won’t do.
Good luck in your search!

What a great top… I am wishing for one in my size! Your kids are so well- dressed, I hope Ellie knows it.

Such a cute shirt… I love it! A while ago I read in some organizing book, that storing books in a dishpan made it easy for kids to put them away. I didn’t like the dishpan idea, but I figured a basket would work. After years of frustration with all the books on the bookshelf sliding over into a crazy mess where you could never find what you wanted, I actually tried it and it works really well! I salvaged a wire freezer basket and lined it and it has been amazing how much less work I have to do putting away kids books!
