a*b*c blocks

I just completed Miss Penelope’s (aka “Peppy”) birthday blocks. I am so happy with how they turned out and they were so much fun to paint. Like I mentioned before, I made these in the past for my older kids and nieces/nephews…the only difference was that I purchased these blocks. The set I made a few years back I bought the wood, cut it, sanded it and it was too much work if you ask me.

I scored a 50% off sale at Hobby Lobby in January and snatched an armful of the unpainted kind. I even painted a few coats of “protection” to prevent knicked paint and such, but these blocks are MEANT to be played with! I even included names of our family, numbers, and short words.

Of course there are some images I like better than others…I love the grass, chicken, rabbit, nest and egg a lot. Which one do you like?

I may think about selling a couple sets of these, if anyone is interested. Ellie and Simon seem to think they should get some more blocks as well…hmmm, they may be able to convince me!

Next thing I need to do is make a backpack for her and finish up her crown. I love birthdays, especially my kids…
