China town- field trip, around the house week 8
Instead of sharing images of around the house this week, I’ll take you on a short field trip to China town in Chicago.
We all enjoyed ourselves immensely. The kids at first felt very intimidated to be somewhere that they did not know the language. This was funny for both Nathan and I because we felt like we were back “home”…as in Los Angeles. We figured this was so essential for them and will intend to expose them to more in the future. The two older kids are at great ages now and I love how they do NOTICE their surroundings. After this little adventure, Nathan and I agreed that our kids would be great travelers. We hope in the near future we can take our kids overseas.
We enjoyed a nice meal and had fun teaching the kids to use chopsticks. After our lunch, it was then that we noticed a few Pho places which we would have preferred, but now we know…
How could I pass up these pretty shoes for Penny!? She had to get a few sizes larger than usual because of her cute chubby feet.
I encourage everyone to visit their local ethnic neighborhood. It may not be a huge culture change, but it does make you realize how wonderful and diverse our world is!
