nothing better than a snickerdoodle…

this week while driving in the late afternoon, i glanced over at penny tess and she was happily enjoying a snickerdoodle someone gave her at my sister shop. she was squealing with sugar coated lips, what could be better? a few minutes passed and her eyes were becoming drowsy, they closed and she was slowly bringing the cookie to her mouth and nibbling! it was so cute and i had wished there was a camera close by…i then heard something drop in her cup holder and she was out (what was left of the perfect cookie was finally let go!). what a life!

another bit of happy news! my sister and her husband will be going to China in July to receive their daughter, Yi Lu! they got their referral and have a photo and all of her information in hand! we are all so thrilled. she was born nov. 22nd and was found abandoned with her umbilical cord still attached. she has beautiful heart shaped lips and tons of hair! i am anxiously awaiting a photo!

i am leading a book discussion on this very topic next month at my book club. The Lost Daughters of China is a book about the abandonment of girls in China…so this will be definitely very close to my heart…

as you can see, i learned how to add a list of books i am reading and a photo…i am learning and still need to add to my book list. i will in a few days…

I have not posted in quite some time…much is to blame with the aggravating computer and it’s stubborness in not allowing me to post lengthy submissions. After the past few months I have attempted and then quicky “quit” after much disappointment. Hopefully this works. Yesterday I wrote (see “OOPS” and it failed…)and again I lost it out there…somewhere…

It’s funny, I once really resisted the computer. I remember that while in college, the computer was not a leisure activity as much as it is now. It was reserved for papers and only computer science majors and MKs used it for e-mail. I have been out of college for 10 years and…NOW- Ellie (6 1/2) has her own blog, she “IMs” her Lola in the Philippines, and she assists Nathan with his film blog. I remeber while writing papers as a student I was pretty adimant that a computer would not be a part of my every day life. I have left this declaration in my past and have shown a bit of interest in modern technology. So, perhaps you will see photos posted here and maybe even a film! I know there are photos stored somewhere in this computer…I just need to figure out a few things!

Since this is a site dedicated to our family affairs I will quickly update our comings and goings in a few, quick words…

Ellie: She is soon to be finishing her 1st grade career and is a great reader! I appreciate her expression, especially when I am tired, and her book selections.

Simon: Sweet and a rascal…these two words describe our relationship perfectly! He is also a talented artist full of all sort of ideas…did you know he is a superhero?

Penelope Tess: A total joy, we all adore her! She eats everything…broccoli, avocado, berries, fish…EVERYTHING! She is beginning to take a few steps…AND what is best is that she kisses everything and everyone! sigh!

Okay, I better make sure this works…
