31

Today, while driving in the car, Ellie asked me if God is the one who puts words in our mouth. I thought it was an interesting observation she made. She actually thought that every word she says comes from God. WOW…

I explained to her that the great thing about God is that we have the ability to think and talk, but can ask God for the right words to say if needed…it’s funny how your 5 year old can challenge you. I tried to explain this so that it made sense to her and I probably was confusing, but I think she was okay with my explanation.

Today I am 31- weird to think that my mom was 31 when she had me. I remember thinking as a kid that she was so old- but it really wasn’t- especially for today. I was the last of her 3 at 31 and Penelope will be the last of my 3. So- happy day to me. I appreciate the fact that growing up my family always made bdays festive. It wasn’t gifts or parties, but the feeling of being acknowledged was so special. I see Ellie doing this now and I am glad this has become so natural.

limitations

The other night I was on the computer and typed in “fetal development photos”- I was amazed to find some incredible photos from 8 weeks to 37 weeks. Ellie got a kick out of it and was shocked to see a baby all rolled up in an odd contorted position.

Then I began to feel the physical limitations my body is currently feeling. To bend over, run up and down stairs, wearing heavy winter coats, etc. has made me a bit impatient. I have to admit, I am not all that big, but maybe with 2 kids and being “couped” up for the winter I should give myself a break and just laugh at myself when I lose my balance…

Anyway, here is a shot of the cause of my “limitations”- actually, this is a 6 week old photo so “Penelope” is much bigger now. But the profile is cool, along with the fist…I thought those of you who live many many miles away will get a kick out of seeing their niece…(especially D&B in the Philippines)

I can’t believe that in less than 3 months she will appear in our family. This will be nice. :)
